HR Staff n’ Stuff offers flexible HR support for small business, including an on-call, ad hoc service called Buy the Time™ that allows you to call or email when you need practical HR advice.

Or you can have one of our team at your place on a regular basis – just like your own outsourced HR department, once a week, fortnight or whatever works for you.

Maybe you just need help with HR compliance, policies, and employment contracts. We can do that too.

Tailored training and workshops for your team? Absolutely. Restructuring your business or working through succession planning? Of course – we can help with that as well.

Whether it’s a one-off issue or ongoing support, we’ll meet you where you are.

Do you provide HR support across Australia?

Yes, we do.

While our offices are based in Melbourne and Perth, we provide HR support to businesses across Australia, both remotely and on-site where needed.

It’s my business? Why can’t I do what I want?

Like most things, there is legislation in place to protect both you as the employer, the long-term viability of your business and the safety and welfare of your employees. Staying across employment law and Fair Work compliance is an important part of running a business.

By all means, you can do what you like, but there’s a good chance you could end up facing a Fair Work claim, costly staff turnover, or even unwanted attention that impacts your reputation.

We will always provide you with practical HR advice and clearly outline your options, including the risks of each approach. Our role is to support you with compliant, ethical HR solutions that protect both your business and your people.

Do HR consultants just recommend services to make money?

Sure, some consultants operate that way, but we don’t.

We will never suggest products or services your business doesn’t need. It’s simply not how we operate. In fact, many clients come to us thinking they need all the HR support available. After taking the time to understand their situation, we provide clear, practical HR advice on what’s actually required — the must-haves, the nice-to-haves, and just as importantly, what you don’t need.

We focus on cost-effective HR solutions that support your business, not unnecessary extras.

We’re here for the long haul. We’re not here to sell you things you don’t need or cost you money you don’t need to spend.

Am I locked into a contract?

Absolutely not. In fact, we don’t use contracts.

We work with you to understand what you need and provide flexible HR support that fits your business. From there, you decide what works for you — no lock-in, no pressure.

You might start with one of our team embedded in your business one day a week, and after six months or two years, your needs may change. You might scale back, switch to on-demand HR support, or not need us at all — and that’s completely fine.

We’re here to support your business as it evolves, not lock you into something that no longer works.

Can I switch between Buy the Time™ and ongoing HR support?

Absolutely.

Business needs change, and our approach is designed to be flexible. You can move between on-demand HR support and a more embedded HR model at any time.

What if we get to the point of needing a permanent HR employee?

If you get to the point of moving away from us as your HR consultant and appointing a permanent employee, we’ll be genuinely thrilled for you.

In fact, we’ve recommended this to clients before because it’s all about what your business needs – not about us.

We can even support you with HR recruitment, helping you find the right candidate for your business.

And if you’d still like support once you have an internal HR resource, we can continue working alongside you as a flexible HR partner, scaling up or down depending on your needs.

It’s completely up to you.
